⏤ what we deliver

Capabilities

Staircases

Custom steel stair structures fabricated to project drawings, with connections and interfaces coordinated around the specified treads, landings and adjoining construction.

Balustrading

Custom metal balustrades for stairs, landings and elevated areas, with infill patterns, fixing details and finishes coordinated to the project design.

Handrails

Made-to-measure metal handrails, with profiles, junctions and fixing arrangements tailored to the stair or access layout.

Steel Detailing

Coordination of steel component dimensions, connections and junctions, translating project drawings into clear details for fabrication and assembly.

⏤ common questions

faqs

Can you fabricate a staircase from my architect’s drawings?
+

Yes. GSP works from supplied architectural drawings and project specifications. Before fabrication, dimensions, connections, finishes and interfaces with the surrounding construction need to be resolved, alongside the required structural documentation.

Can the steel staircase accommodate timber or other tread finishes?
+

Steel stair structures can be fabricated to receive separately supplied tread finishes, subject to the project design. Tread thicknesses, fixing methods and junctions should be confirmed early so the steelwork and finished surfaces fit together correctly.

Can you supply balustrades and handrails without a new staircase?
+

Yes. Balustrades and handrails can form a separate fabrication scope. For existing stairs, balconies or landings, we need information about the supporting construction, dimensions and proposed fixing locations before confirming the work.

Can the staircase, balustrades and handrails share a consistent design?
+

Yes. Profiles, infill patterns and finishes can be coordinated across the stair structure, balustrades and handrails. We work with the project team to carry the design through changes in level, corners and connections.

When should we involve GSP in the project?
+

Early in design development, particularly where the steelwork connects with floors, walls or other finishes. Sharing the proposed layout before those details are finalised helps identify fabrication, fixing and access requirements.

What information do you need to prepare a quote?
+

Send your project location, plans, elevations and relevant structural drawings, together with the preferred materials and finishes. Include details of treads, balustrade infill, handrails and whether installation is required. For work within an existing building, photographs and site-access information are also helpful.
